Set of six different domed magnets, each featuring a detail from the innovative leaded glass work by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933).
Louis Comfort Tiffany began his career as a painter but moved quickly to interior decoration and leaded-glass windows. Starting in 1898 the artist adapted his method of making windows to the production of artful lampshades, frequently inspired by natural motifs. Although his craftsmen used patterns, each lampshade was unique due to the selection of the individual pieces of glass. These vibrant domed magnets feature lampshades from the collection of the New-York Historical Society Museum.
This set of magnets (clockwise from top left) features details of six lampshades: Clematis Hanging Shade, Magnolia Shade, Daffodil Hanging Shade, Cyclamen Shade, Poinsettia Shade, Dogwood Shade.
