Description

This lovely boxed soy candle was inspired by Van Gogh's Bank of the Oise at Auvers, a favorite in the collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

"In July 1890, Van Gogh painted this colorful scene of boats for hire on the River Oise in Auvers, near Paris, France. A woman is seated in one boat and a man and woman are standing on the shore. Dense green trees and shrubs along the riverbend provide a lush backdrop for this depiction of working-class locals seeking pleasure during their only free weekend day.

This hand poured soy candle, with scent notes of Sandalwood, Mandarin, Ginger, and Cinnamon Bark, has the DIA logo on the glass container and comes in a presentation box with an image of Van Gogh's Bank of the Oise at Auvers.

A wonderful gift, this candle is equally comfortable in contemporary as well as in more classical interiors.

Custom designed by the Detroit Institute of Arts. The DIA is among the top five encyclopedic art museums in the United States, with a world-class collection on 65,000 objects that explore history and culture that can't be found in books, television, or the internet. Your purchase supports the DIA, a gathering place for everybody.
