Working from his studio in the outskirts of Paris, Laurent Guillot is an artist who works in Lucite, crystal, and glass. As a designer, he has been exploring the notion of transparency throughout his career and creates his magnificent jewelry by playing with shape, volume and light. Having trained in painting restoration, Guillot mastered a range of techniques such as foil and gold leaf, leading to a love of layering and combining different materials to catch and reflect the light.
Lucite is a special type of material that must be heated and manipulated by hand, and is not mass produced. Once each piece is shaped, it is finished with additional layers of color or other materials.
Guillot's jewelry is always made by himself, by hand, in limited quantities, making them very special statement pieces.
