With all the Jeep loyalists out there, this one-of-a-kind bangle is bound to go fast!
The center cabochon, known as Fordite, was formed from the buildup of layers of enamel paint on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), then baked numerous times. Once the Fordite is shaped and polished, the hidden beauty of the layers within are revealed.
The raw material in this piece is authentic Jeep overspray paint from 2018 - 2019.
In recent times the material has been recycled into jewelry and deservedly given its own name Fordite, or "Detroit agate" or "Motor City agate." A fantastic tribute to Michigan's contribution from BOTH the auto industry, as well as the creative genius you'll find in the Mitten State.
Fordite cabochon measures 3/4" x 3/4".
Generally fits someone who wears a 6 1/2″ to an 8″ bracelet or bangle.
Crafted in Michigan.
