Leaded glass windows were among Louis C. Tiffany’s most significant works. This beautiful apron is inspired by one of the five panels which originally comprised “Good Shepherd with Landscape,” ca. 1909, designed by Frederick Wilson. Two of the panels are in the collection of the New-York Historical Society. The panel adapted here captures the misty blue hues of a lakeside morning as purple irises strive for the first rays of sunlight.
