I received a Gift Certificate by email. How do I redeem it?
Lucky you! If you received an electronic Gift Certificate by email containing a code that looks something like this: FFG-129-P4Z-6E3, then you may redeem it for merchandise sold online at www.diashop.org. Please enter your code during the payment step of the checkout phase.
Can I redeem my electronic Gift Certificate in the physical store?
We are sorry, this type of Gift Certificate cannot be used in our physical store. If you know of a product that is sold in the store, but cannot find it online, please contact 313-833-7948 for assistance.
How do I check my balance on my Gift Certificate?

I received an E-Gift Card (prior to January 23, 2015). Is it still valid?
On January 23, 2015 the DIA Shop got a shiny new website interface. Therefore, if you received an E-Gift Card prior to January 23, 2015, the old code will not work in our new system. But, do not despair! We created an account for you (if you did not already have one) and your account has been credited in the amount of your remaining E-Gift card balance. To sign into your account, you will first need to reset your password by going to my account/reset password. As long as you are signed in to your account, you will have the option at checkout to spend your store credit.
What is your shipping policy?
Items in stock for orders placed by noon EST Monday through Thursday typically (but not always) ship the same day. Orders placed Thursday through Saturday typically ship on the following Monday.
Shipping and handling fees depend upon the value of items ordered and the method of delivery that you choose. USPS Priority Mail is used for Standard Shipping. Estimated delivery time is 3-7 days for domestic and 10-14 days for international. USPS Express Mail is used for Express Shipping. Estimated delivery time is 1-3 days. If you live nearby, you may elect to pick up your items in the store free of charge.
Correct delivery address is required to ensure proper delivery. If you have special circumstances that require our attention, please include a note in the comments section during checkout. Or, contact us with any concerns.
We will do our best to notify you promptly of any expected delays regarding your order. Please note that items ordered together may not ship together.
Yes! Here's how:
If your billing address is in the state of Michigan, you can simply fill in the Bill To Address and leave the box checked that says "I also want to ship to this address." During the next step (Shipping Method), you will see an option for In Store Pick Up.
If you live outside of the state of Michigan, in the checkout, uncheck the box that says "I also want to ship to this address" and click the button that says "Bill to This Address." Next, in the Shipping Details section, click the radio button that says "I want to use a new shipping address" and enter the museum's address as the Ship To Address. Then, in the next step (Shipping Method) you will see In Store Pick Up as an option. Here is the museum's address: 5200 Woodward Avenue. Detroit, MI, 48202.
What is your return policy?
Items purchased online or at the museum may be returned by bringing in or mailing your items to 5200 Woodward Avenue. Detroit, MI, 48202. Our return policy states that merchandise must be returned within 60 days of purchase and must be accompanied by your original receipt.
What if my online order arrived damaged?
Please inspect the merchandise in your online order upon delivery. If your merchandise arrived damaged, please contact the DIA Shop by calling 313-833-7948 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I purchase a membership?
Memberships can be purchased from our Membership team online or by calling the Membership Hotline: 313-833-7971.
Active members must sign in to their DIA Shop account to receive their discount. Your discount calculates automatically in your shopping cart.
I am a member. How do I sign in?
To sign in, click here. Do not create a new account. Even if you are new to the DIA's online shop, you will find that we have already set up your login credentials for you based on the email address we have on file in the membership database. Enter your email address and your member number as your initial password. If you have shopped with us in the past, your password will be the same as you have used in the past. If you forgot your password, or if your member number is not working as your password, you can reset your password here.
I am signed in, but I still don't see my discount in my shopping cart.
If you don't see your discount in your shopping cart at first, please refresh your shopping cart (by either clicking the shop's logo in the upper left of the page and then go back to your shopping cart by clicking on the shopping cart logo in the upper right corner of the page; or by simply refreshing your browser window). If your discount still does not appear, please leave your member number in the "Comments" section of the checkout and feel free to contact email@example.com or call 313-833-7922 for more direct assistance.
Can I change my password?
