Disappointed
I had thought the images on these cards were line drawn. Instead, I discovered they are embossed. And they are scarcely visible.
A lifelong artist and conservationist, Charley Harper expressed his deep appreciation of nature through his design, forming the innovative “minimal realism” that would become his artistic hallmark. From his childhood days exploring the Appalachian foothills in rural West Virginia, Harper (American, 1922–2007) closely observed the beauty, habits, and natural habitats of birds and other wildlife. With his clever paintings, groundbreaking illustrations for Ford Times magazine, and his posters for the National Park Service and various wildlife organizations, Harper’s work has inspired an entire generation of artists and designers.
