Custom designed for the Detroit Institute of Arts!

The Nut Gatherers (Les Noisettes) is an 1882 oil painting by the French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau (French, 1825-1905). The Nut Gatherers is an example of the sort of idyllic, sentimental scene for which William Adolphe Bouguereau is well known. Two young girls are shown sitting together in the woods, dressed simply and barefoot. Their quiet repose suggests both the vulnerability of youth and the carefree world of simple pleasures before the responsibilities of adulthood begin.

It is one of the most popular pieces at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The painting was donated to the museum by William E. Scripps in 1954.

This foam backed mouse pad is a nice memento of the painting.
