Soapstone Vase "Giraffes at Dusk"

Hand-carved soapstone vase features a pair of majestic African giraffes at dusk which encircle the vase.

Fairly traded and handmade in Kenya out of local soapstone by skilled master carvers who meticulously hand-carved each vase using only basic hand tools. The vase is then sanded to a smooth finish. Next the giraffes and the tree are etched out with a knife, then hand-painted with water based color dyes. A clear wax hand-finish gives shine and character to each piece. 

Created one at a time, no two are alike.

Measures approximately 6" H x 3" D.
