Description

A painter’s paradise, Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny were of infinitely variable color and form. Seeking a tranquil place to indulge his twin passions of painting and gardening, the master impressionist had moved to the small Normandy village in 1883. Roughly one hundred years later, photographer and horticultural designer Elizabeth Murray helped restore the gardens. She has returned regularly to photograph their ever-changing beauty.
