Set of six different domed magnets, each capturing the beauty of Claude Monet's (1840-1926) impressionist artwork. Being a key figure in the movement that transformed French painting in the second half of the nineteenth century, Monet was dedicated to painting en plein air (a French expression which means "in the open air"). A passionate horticulturist, in 1893 he purchased land with a pond near his property in Giverny, intending to build something "for the pleasure of the eye and also for motifs to paint." The result was his water-lily garden, which inspired a series of paintings in 1899.
