Description

Thirty color reproductions of paintings by Claude Monet are bound in this handy postcard collection. Easy to remove and produced on heavy card stock, these stunning postcards are a delight to the sender and receiver.

Claude Monet (French, 1840–1926) ranks among the greatest painters in the history of art. He was the most influential of the Impressionists, a group of painters who strove to capture the endless variations of light and atmosphere that occur over the course of a day in a given location. His career spanned a revolution that was predicated on an intensification of realism and eventually led the way to abstraction. This book of postcards includes thirty of Monet’s best-loved works, including coastscapes, landscapes, city scenes, still lifes, and his unparalleled paintings of flower-filled meadows and the exquisite gardens and water lily pond at Giverny.

Postcards are oversized and may require additional postage.

Oversized postcards measure 6-1/2 x 4-3/4 x 5/8 inches

This postcard book was especially chosen to accompany the exhibition,  Monet Framing Life, which will be at the Detroit Institute of Arts from October 22, 2017 — March 4, 2018.
