Michael Graves Mantel Clock

Product Description

Created by Michael Graves, this clock presents itself as a work of architecture.  The Mantel Clock is made entirely by hand and fascinates with its many construction details. The designer investigated the long tradition of conceiving objects in terms of architecture, as if they were miniature architectural creations.

Born in Indianapolis, Michael Graves teaches architecture in Princeton, New Jersey. His architectural works include the Portland Building and the Humana Building, the extension of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Newark Museum, Graves was the primary designer for the renovation and expansion of the Detroit Institute of Arts, completed in 2007.
