It may not be the original T206 Honus Wagner Piedmont Tobacco card from 1909, but you can pretend it is for a fraction of the two million dollar value given to one of the most famous baseball cards in collecting history.
See the real deal at the Detroit Institute of Arts' exhibition Play Ball! Transforming the Game, 1876-2019 on view through September 15, 2019. Highlights of the exhibition include sections on two championship teams, the 1887 Detroit Wolverines and the 1984 Detroit Tigers, and a large selection of rare baseball cards, including cabinet cards from the 1880s, trade cards published by tobacco manufacturers in the early 1900s, cards distributed with gum from the 1930s up to 1992, and examples of more recent cards.
"The Card" measures 1 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches and is housed in a protective collectors' clear plastic case specially made for T206 cards.
