Charley Harper (American, 1922–2007) loved animals and nature, but he was quick to remind folks that he was an artist, not a naturalist: “I think flat, simple, and funny.” With the cheeky tail end of a deer or the dangling foot of a droll little mouse, his artwork makes viewers smile. In a style he called “minimal realism,” Harper used geometric shapes, patterns, and vivid colors to bring out the personality of each critter he painted.
This Wonders of the Wild floor puzzle is based on his painting The Florida Keys, 1990.
Preschoolers will delight in putting together this colorful and educational puzzle with 48 pieces, each approximately 5" x 5" in size.
