Recently featured in a story by "Click On Detroit" all eyes are again on Detroit's own Rebel Nell, a jewelry company that for six years now has been dedicated to helping women in difficult circumstances become self-reliant.
Deciding to represent Rebel Nell jewelry in the Detroit Institute of Arts shop was a no-brainer. Not only does the jewelry appeal to museum goers who are always looking for well-made and unique gifts, it also appeals to visitors from out of town, as "a little piece of Detroit." Helping to share the Rebel Nell story with our visitors allows the DIA to give back a bit to the community as well.
Salesperson Jenny DeGorsky says,"When we tell [visitors] the story behind the jewelry, people really feel connected with the pieces and to the cause. We often get repeat customers, coming back to buy a special gift for a friend."
Several women have now graduated from the program, which typically lasts for two years.
The DIA Shop carries jewelry by the amazing women of Rebel Nell in the store and online. Shop Now.
