The 1931 Ford Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. This Model A Pickup got its name because you originally had to go to the train station to "pickup" the truck bed from the Ford Motor Company and install it yourself onto the Model T frame. The 1931 Ford Model A Pickup was the first model which was delivered with the truck bed already installed at the factory.
