Description

This sublime set of notecards showcases ten of artist Helen Frankenthaler's luminous Abstract Expressionist paintings from the 1960s. These expressive fields of brilliant color are as evocative today as when they were first created.

Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011) was one of the most influential American artists to arise from the mid-twentieth century and her innovative staining technique helped to shape the second generation of the abstract expressionist movement. After major retrospectives at the Jewish Contemporary Museum, the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Frankenthaler's work gained significant recognition both within the art world and with the general public.

One of the notecards in this set is The Bay, 1963, which is in the collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Contains 20 blank notecards (2 each of 10 images) and 20 envelopes,

Comes in a sturdy, reuseable box, great for storage of special little treasures.
